The Washington DC Superior Court Will Launch Case Initiation on March 2, 2015

The Washington D.C. Superior Court is launching Case Initiation beginning March 2, 2015 through CaseFileXpress, the electronic filing portal of the Court. This exciting change to how filers e-File will provide several benefits including alleviating the need to physically go to the courthouse, mail or hand deliver the initial filing of the case. In addition, plaintiff filers will have complete access for the life of the case through the online repository.

The Court's Administrative Order 15-03 dated February 13, 2015 expands e-Filing to allow filers to submit new Civil cases electronically into The District of Columbia Superior Court. E-Filing of new cases from Case Initiation will be mandatory beginning May 4, 2015. Pending or active cases in Civil I and II Divisions, Tax Division, Family Court and Probate Division are also filed through the CaseFileXpress portal.
